Chinese New Year Festival, February 9th 2014

Nothing says bringing in the New Year than with dragons and lanterns. This annual event features Lion Dances and acrobatic performances to bring in the Chinese New Year, and this upcoming year will be the year of the horse. The event will be held at 634 N. Chili Cook-Off, February 8th 2014

Do you have a “to die for” chili recipe? Or maybe you are searching for the best chili you can eat. Either way, Orlando’s chili cook- off is an event for food lovers to gather and share talent. There will be plenty of entertainment with country music singer Bobby Scott and a kid zone to keep them entertained also. The event is held at the Festival Park, and tickets are $12 for adults and $3 for kids. If chili isn’t your favorite food, there will be a variety of vendors attending to choose from. The 12th annual folk festival is back to Orlando and better than ever with its great local artists, music and crafts. Expect crafts from hand built ceramics to digital art, for all the modernists out there. This event brings in more than 6,000 visitors every year and has free admission! The Mennello Museum of American Art is a proud sponsor of this huge and successful event.

Downtown Food and Wine Fest, February 22nd-23rd 2014

Another annual event with live music and great food is the Food and Wine Fest, this year hosted at Lake Eola in the heart of Orlando. This event will feature over 40 of Orlando’s top restaurants, along with a variety of foreign beverages. Not only can you enjoy your day sipping wine with a happy stomach, a portion of your proceeds are donated to the FRLA Educational Foundation and Children’s Home Society of Florida.
