Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks

Walt Disney World is the largest and most visited recreation and resort park in the world. It sits only 21 miles southwest of Orlando, Florida and covers over 30,000 acres of land. There are four theme parks, two water parks, and thirty-one resort hotels and timeshares on the site. There are also two health spas and fitness centers, and one campground.

When people go to Disney World, they are usually most interested in the theme parks. The first attraction at Walt Disney World was the Magic Kingdom, a theme park inspired by Disneyland in California. The Magic Kingdom is the home of the famous Cinderella’s Castle and the park is divided into many differently themed districts, each one containing rides, vendors, and attractions appropriate to the theme. These districts include Main Street, USA; Adventureland; Frontierland; Liberty Square; Tomorrowland; and Fantasyland. Every one of these districts includes something fun for everyone.

EPCOT is another theme park at Walt Disney World. The EPCOT park is the home of the famous Spaceship Earth structure and consists of two sections: Future World and World Showcase. Future World contains a number of pavilions where you can explore innovations and applications of technology. World Showcase houses pavilions representing eleven different countries, including The USA, Japan, and France.

Yet another theme park is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This park consists of six themed sections: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Animation Courtyard, Pixar Place, and Sunset Boulevard. The entire park has a show business theme inspired by the heyday of Hollywood in the 30s and 40s.

The fourth theme park in Disney World is the Animal Kingdom. As its name suggests, this is an animal-themed park and is the largest single Disney theme park in the world. The park’s main focus is animal conservation and education, and there are many animals to be seen there. The sections of the Animal Kingdom are Oasis, Discovery Island, Camp Minne-Mickey, Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia, and DinoLand USA. Plans are underway to add a Beastly Kingdom section in the future.

The choices are almost infinite when it comes to deciding what to do in Walt Disney

World. With so many exciting options, it would be easy to spend a very long time there indeed.

Fortunately there are many Disney Resorts to choose from in or near the theme park of your choice, making it easy to stay within the magic.
