The Universal Studios theme park at is always a favorite destination for people travelling to Orlando, Florida. Part of the larger Universal Orlando Resort, everything in the park is somehow related to the entertainment industry, and there’s something fun and exciting there for everybody. Universal Studios is full of television- or movie-themed rides and interactive activities, and features a large number of live shows and other great attractions. In 2010, almost six million people visited the theme park. Universal Studios Orlando is divided into six differently-themed areas: Production Central, New York, San Francisco/Amity, World Expo, Hollywoord, and Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone.

Although a trip at any time of the year guarantees a good time at Universal Studios, at certain times there are special
events that make the park even more fun and exciting. Every April, an event for graduating high school students called Grad Bash allows students to hold an all-night party in the park featuring live performances, dance parties, and all of the park’s favourite attractions. A similar event for students graduating from junior high is held in May. In October, Halloween Horror Nights turns Universal Studios Orlando into a massive Haunted playland with numerous haunted houses, special shows, and scare zones. Universal also hosts a gigantic Mardi Gras party, a month-long December celebration called Macy’s Holiday Parade, a Christian music festival in September called Rock the Universe, and the Summer Concert Series which includes a number of popular music acts.
Universal Studios is home to so many great attractions. Harry Potter fans can visit Honeydukes, the famous Hogsmeade sweets shop, purchase a wand at the Ollivanders store, or seek a thrill on the Dragon Challenge roller coasters. Other exciting rides include the musical Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, The Simpsons Ride, Shrek 4-D, and Revenge of the Mummy. Children too small for these rides will have their own fun on the kiddie rides like the Caro-Seuss-el, E.T. Adventure, or Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster.
Universal Studios Hogwarts
Those interested in the nightlife will find lots to do at Universal Studios Orlando. There are plenty of choices in music, dining, and other fun activities. Some of the best places to go include Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, where you can watch nightly live entertainment and order from the extensive drink menu; the Red Coconut Club, a hip nightclub and lounge; or Emeril’s Restaurant, home of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse.
